Tufty 2350 is a badge device by Pimoroni. I bought the device from Adafruit in 2026.

What are badge devices?

Hackaday made a documentary titled BadgeLife in 2018:

Last week, tens of thousands of people headed home from Vegas, fresh out of this year’s DEF CON. This was a great year for DEF CON, especially when it comes to hardware. This was the year independent badges took over, thanks to a small community of people dedicated to creating small-run hardware, puzzles, and PCB art for thousands of conference-goers. This is badgelife, a demoscene of hardware, and this is just the beginning. It’s only going to get bigger from here on out.

In addition to independently-made badges, DEF CON has made and handed out official badge devices for years. Then Pimoroni made Badger 2040 in 2022:

In honour of Raspberry Pi's 10th birthday, we've fused a RP2040 microcontroller with an EPD display to produce a stylishly monochrome, maker friendly, e-paper badge(r) to attach to your person, your office door or to prop up on your desk.

Tufty 2040 is Badger's LCD variant and Tufty 2350 is its successor.

GitHub handed out custom versions of the Pimoroni badges during their annual conferences in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
